About Galería 3D
| Along the last twenty-odd years, computer animation has evolved, as technics and as art, in an extraordinary way. Today, the computer is an alternative to the camera which allows the visualization of any kind of imagined moving thing. And computer animations, whatever be their genre, are more and more atractive and remarkable; the purpose of Galería 3D is to contribute to its dissemination.
Galería 3D is a collection of computer animations in three dimensions produced for education, entertainment or art. The term 3D refers to the computerized 3D synthesis, CGI Computer Generated Imagery, not to the 3D illusion when viewing the film, the sense recently disseminated for marketing purposes (certainly it sounds better 3D than estereoscopic but the three dimensions of images are more meaningful in origin). The responsible of this collection is Xavier Berenguer, engineer with experience in production of 3D animations. He is also professor at the university: Galería 3D is part of the bibliography at the courses he teaches, and the comments that accompany the animations are contributions of students of these courses. Almost all animations (trailers or sequences in case of feature films) are viewed here via YouTube. Most of them were previously installed; some have been uploaded to an expressly open YouTube channel. This website is made with WordPress, an adapted template by Effi Haryanti and a database SuperCard. Flash Player is required to view the animations. |
